- Paying Points for a Lower Interest Rate

As an Chicago home owner when you decide to refinance your home mortgage you need to choose which interest rates and related costs will work best for your situation. There are typically a range of loan programs offered by Illinois-Mortgage-Broker .com each with different interest rates and charging different amounts of points. Remember, a point is equal to one percent of the loan amount. Generally, the lower the interest rate on the loan, the more points you will be charged on the loan. Some companies offer refinancing with no points, but generally charge higher interest rates. To decide what combination of rate and points is best for you, balance the amount you can pay up front with the amount you can pay monthly. The less time that you keep the loan, the more expensive points become so if you plan to stay in your house for a long time then it may be worthwhile to pay additional points to obtain a lower interest rate. Working with your Illinois-Mortgage-Broker .com loan representative you will be able to analyze the different interest rates and related points, which can save you a lot of money overall. Some combinations of interest rates and points may cause your monthly payment to increase but cost less initially and vice versa. If you are considering a refinance on your Chicago mortgage make sure to contact a Illinois-Mortgage-Broker .com representative at 888-312-1622 to learn about all possible options open to you.

- Refinance Now to Lower your Mortgage Interest Rate and Save you Money!

Our mortgage brokers at Illinois-Mortgage-Broker .com will make a refinance beneficial for you. We do this by refinancing for more than the balance remaining on your old Chicago mortgage. In the Chicago mortgage industry this is called “cashing out”. Recent fluctuations in the economy may allow you to refinance your Chicago home loan without increasing your monthly payments.

The extra cash that results from refinancing can be used for many purposes; one of the smartest ways to use these funds is to pay off any loans with higher interest rates. If you are not in a position where debt is a concern for you, you may be interested in using the money for a more enjoyable purpose, such as building an addition on to your Chicago home. Which ever way you decide to spend the money, your mortgage broker at Illinois-Mortgage-Broker .com can help you through the process.

Additional Chicago Refinance Information

Chicago Area Information:

Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable (1745-1818), a black man whose father was French Canadian and mother who was Haitian, came to Chicago around 1780 as a fur trader and built his house on land where the Wrigley building and Pioneer Court now stand on the north bank of the Chicago River, just east of what is now Michigan Avenue. He traded with the Indians until 1796. The Potawatomis adopted Du Sable as one of their own and allowed Du Sable to marry Catherine, who was a Potawatomi and cousin of their chief, Pokagon. By marrying into one of the Midwest's largest tribes, and being of dark skin, Du Sable was trusted and successful in his trade. He started the city's first commercial enterprise which was a trading post on the Chicago River. He conducted business regularly with other traders, merchants, and adventurers.

The city's first recorded marriage took place at his trading post as well as the first election. Also housed the first city's post office and court.

In 1800, Du Sable sold his property to Jean Lalime, a French-Canadian trapper. Shortly after, John Kinzie purchased it. (information on John Kinzie provided after Du Sable's information)

In 1805, Du Sable and his family moved to Peoria where he lived for ten years and then settled with his granddaughter and husband in St. Charles, Missouri, where he died in 1818.

Chicago's first official resident is remembered today with a high school and museum named after him.

Activities like films, lectures, arts and crafts festivals, creative performances and book fairs are presented at the museum.

John Kinzie was Chicago's first permanent white settler. Born in Quebec in 1763. He arrived in Chicago in 1804 and became successful trader. Kinzie sold supplies to the soldiers at Fort Dearborn and bought furs from the Indians. He died in Chicago, January 1828 at age sixty-five.
